Computing Sciences Program
Lenoir-Rhyne University is one of the few small Liberal Arts colleges in the nation to offer full degree programs in the Computing Sciences. The program resides in the School of Computing Sciences and Mathematics and currently offers a B.A. degree in Computer Science and a B.A. degree in Information Technology. The programs follow the ACM curriculum.
The School of Mathematics and Computing Sciences is named after local benefactors Donald and Helen Schort who provided our programs with a generous endowment of $2.5 million in 2008. Proceeds from the endowment allow us to provide many exciting opportunities for our Math and CS students, including travel to regional and national conferences, tutorials and workshops, support for undergraduate research, presentations by visiting scholars, and access to a wide selection of current Mathematical and computing software.
